aspiring leader program

Enabling aspiring leaders to build the mindset, skillset,
and TOOLSET to step into leadership with impact

Program overview

The Aspiring Leader Program is designed to support individuals stepping into leadership, or preparing to do so, by building the foundational mindset, skillset and confidence required to lead effectively. Transitioning into leadership is a significant shift—from focusing on personal performance to enabling the performance of others. This program provides a practical and supportive environment for participants to explore what it means to lead with intention, clarity and impact.

A central focus of the program is developing self-awareness as the cornerstone of effective leadership. Participants gain insight into their leadership style, behaviours and impact on others, enabling them to lead with greater authenticity and consistency. Through reflection and facilitated discussion, aspiring leaders build a deeper understanding of their strengths, development areas and the habits required to lead themselves before leading others.

This program supports leaders stepping into leadership

Building strong and effective relationships is another key theme of the program. Participants develop their communication capability, learning how to build trust, navigate different working styles and have meaningful conversations that support both performance and
wellbeing. The program emphasises the importance of connection and influence, equipping leaders to foster
positive and productive working relationships across
their teams.

The program also explores what it takes to contribute to and lead high-performing teams, with a strong focus on achieving results through others. Participants are introduced to coaching-based approaches that support accountability, ownership and growth. By integrating self-awareness, relationships, team effectiveness and a results focus, aspiring leaders leave the program with a clear and practical framework to guide their leadership practice.

PROGRAM DELIVERY

The Aspiring Leader Program is delivered using the Australian Leadership Academy’s blended, experiential learning approach, combining self-paced prework, high-impact facilitated workshops, applied application, and reflective learning. This structured approach ensures participants arrive prepared, maximise in-session learning, and actively apply leadership capability within their own organisational context throughout the learning journey. Each stage is intentionally designed to progressively build capability while reinforcing practical workplace application and sustained leadership impact.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The program is delivered through a series of highly interactive and engaging workshops designed to progressively build leadership capability and confidence. Each session integrates practical application, reflection, and discussion, ensuring learning is relevant, meaningful, and immediately transferable to the workplace. PROGRAM IMPACT

Participants of the Aspiring Leader Program experience increased confidence and clarity in their leadership role. They are better equipped to navigate the challenges of leading others, communicate effectively and build strong working relationships. This foundation enables them to step into leadership with greater intention and consistency.

As aspiring leaders apply their learning, teams benefit from improved communication, stronger relationships and increased accountability. Individuals feel more supported and engaged, with clearer expectations and a greater sense of ownership for their work. This contributes to a more positive and productive team environment.

At an organisational level, the program strengthens the leadership pipeline by building capability early. Organisations benefit from more confident, capable and aligned leaders who are able to contribute to high-performing teams and deliver sustainable results.
