Leading with organisational values

ENABLING LEADERS TO ALIGN BEHAVIOURS, CULTURE, AND ORGANISATIONAL VALUES ‍

Program overview

The Leading with Organisational Values Program is designed to strengthen the capability of leaders to intentionally lead and model organisational values within workplace environments. Organisational values play a critical role in shaping culture, influencing behaviour, and guiding decision-making across teams and organisations. This program supports leaders to better understand how values are embedded into everyday leadership practice and workplace culture.

Grounded in practical leadership application, the program explores the relationship between organisational values, cultural artefacts, behaviours, and underlying assumptions. Participants develop greater awareness of how culture is created, reinforced, and sustained through leadership actions, communication, systems, and team dynamics.

DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP CAPABILITY TO STRENGTHEN
VALUES-ALIGNED CULTURES

The program focuses on helping leaders align their behaviours and leadership approaches with organisational values to create greater consistency, trust, and cultural alignment. Participants strengthen their capability to role model expected behaviours, influence positive workplace culture, and support environments where organisational values are visible in everyday practice.

The learning experience is practical, reflective, and directly connected to real workplace environments. Through facilitated discussion, practical activities, peer learning, and applied leadership exercises, participants strengthen their understanding of values-led leadership and develop strategies to embed organisational values more intentionally within teams and workplace culture.

PROGRAM delivery

The Leading with Organisational Values Program is delivered using the Australian Leadership Academy’s blended, experiential learning approach, combining self-paced prework, high-impact facilitated workshops, applied application, and reflective learning. This structured approach ensures participants arrive prepared, maximise in-session learning, and actively apply leadership capability within their own organisational context throughout the learning journey. Each stage is intentionally designed to progressively build capability while reinforcing practical workplace application and sustained leadership impact.

Program structure

Note: The program structure above is a draft delivery option. The Australian Leadership Academy can design a bespoke
Leading with Organisational Values Program tailored to meet the specific needs of your organisation.

  • Participants begin their journey with a curated set of prework activities designed to introduce key concepts related to organisational values, culture, and leadership behaviour. This includes short readings, video content, reflective questions, and self-assessment activities focused on workplace culture, leadership impact, and values alignment within organisational environments.

  • The program formally commences with a live, facilitator-led virtual session. This interactive introduction establishes the learning environment, outlines program expectations, and introduces the foundations of organisational values and workplace culture. Participants begin exploring how values influence leadership behaviours, communication, decision-making, and team dynamics.

  • Participants complete targeted prework designed to deepen awareness of current organisational culture, workplace behaviours, and leadership alignment with organisational values. This includes reflective exercises, workplace observation activities, and preparation of real organisational scenarios participants will bring into the workshop for discussion and application.

  • A highly interactive, face-to-face learning experience focused on understanding the foundations of organisational values and their influence on workplace culture and leadership effectiveness. Participants explore organisational artefacts, values, behavioural expectations, and underlying assumptions that shape culture within teams and organisations. Through facilitated discussion, practical activities, peer learning, and workplace application exercises, participants strengthen their capability to align leadership behaviours with organisational values and create stronger cultural consistency and alignment.

  • Participants complete reflective and application-focused activities linked to the implementation of Workshop 1 learning within their workplace context. The prework encourages leaders to reflect on workplace culture, behavioural alignment, communication practices, and opportunities to apply values-led leadership principles more intentionally within their teams and organisations.

  • The second workshop builds on foundational learning and focuses on strengthening the leadership behaviours and strategies required to embed organisational values consistently over time. Participants deepen their capability in influencing culture, strengthening behavioural accountability, supporting alignment, and leading values-based conversations within workplace environments. The workshop includes practical frameworks, facilitated discussion, and applied leadership activities designed to support sustainable behavioural change and stronger organisational culture outcomes.

PROGRAM IMPACT

The Leading with Organisational Values Program strengthens leadership capability to create greater alignment between organisational values, workplace behaviours, and team culture. Participants develop stronger awareness of how leadership behaviours influence culture, engagement, accountability, and organisational consistency.

The program supports leaders to move beyond values as aspirational statements and develop more intentional approaches to embedding values into everyday leadership practice. Participants strengthen their ability to role model expected behaviours, support cultural alignment, and create workplace environments where organisational values are visible through actions and decision-making.

At an organisational level, the program contributes to stronger workplace culture, increased behavioural consistency, improved alignment across teams, and enhanced leadership effectiveness. Leaders are better equipped to create environments where organisational values support trust, accountability, collaboration, and sustainable organisational performance.
