Program overview
The Leading with Self-Awareness Program is designed to strengthen the capability of leaders to understand their own leadership style, behaviours, values, and impact on others. The program builds the foundational leadership capability required to lead with greater intention, clarity, and personal accountability.
The program explores the role of self-awareness as the cornerstone of effective leadership. Participants develop a deeper understanding of how their thoughts, behaviours, emotional responses, and communication styles influence team dynamics, relationships, and performance outcomes in the workplace.

The Leading with Self Awareness Program is delivered using the Australian Leadership Academy’s blended, experiential learning approach, combining self-paced prework, an online program introduction, and a high-impact facilitated workshop. Participants begin the Self-Awareness Workshop with a curated set of prework activities designed to build foundational self-awareness and encourage early reflection on personal leadership style, behaviours, and impact. This includes short readings, video content, and guided questions that prompt thinking about strengths, communication patterns, and how they show up in team and leadership contexts. The prework ensures all participants commence with a shared baseline understanding of self-awareness as a core leadership capability.

The program begins with an interactive online introduction designed to establish a foundational understanding of self-awareness and its role in leadership effectiveness. Participants are introduced to core concepts of leadership identity, behavioural impact, and reflective practice.
