Coordinators Leadership Program
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Latrobe City Council engaged the Australian Leadership Academy (ALA) to deliver a bespoke leadership and high-performing team program for the organisations Coordinators, delivered in two cohorts. The program was designed to strengthen leadership capability across the organisation and support a consistent, values-aligned leadership culture.
A distinctive feature of the program was ALA’s agenda-setting process, which empowered participants to identify and explore their most pressing adaptive leadership challenges. This approach ensured that the learning objectives were directly relevant to the real-world needs and contexts of the leadership team.
The program was aligned to the Latrobe City Council Leadership Competency Framework and focused on key capabilities including leading with personal responsibility, values-based leadership, high-performance communication, a coaching mindset, and effective high-performance conversations.
Emphasis was placed on fostering a high-performance leadership culture—grounded in accountability, collaboration, and an aligned team vision. The program supported participants to lead with clarity and confidence, and to contribute to a cohesive, future-focused leadership team committed to the ongoing success of Latrobe City Council.

The program strengthened Coordinators’ ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and adaptability. They developed skills in active listening, asking purposeful questions, and flexing their communication style to build stronger, more collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders.
