PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The City of Stonnington engaged the Australian Leadership Academy (ALA) to deliver a bespoke executive leadership and high-performing team workshop as part of the mandatory induction training for newly elected mayors, deputy mayors, and councillors. Aligned with the Working Together in Council framework, the workshop was designed to foster a collaborative, values-driven approach to governance from the outset of the council term.
The workshop supported councillors in co-creating a collective team vision and cultivating a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability. Through structured dialogue and reflection, councillors built shared understanding around individual motivations, group expectations, and collective purpose—strengthening self-awareness and team cohesion.
The workshop reinforced the foundations of a high-performance culture, placing emphasis on role clarity, shared accountability, and regular group reflection to support improved council performance, trust, and transparent leadership.
